Current Poll: Ron Paul
Politics, Polls May 30th. 2007, 10:34amI am creating this post for the purpose of comments on the current poll. Just in case anyone would like to qualify their answer or discuss the various implications.
The current poll is a question about Ron Paul:
Will Ron Paul run independently when he fails to get the Republican nomination?
Feel free to comment or discuss here, if you would like to. ![]()

He said he wouldn’t during an interview. If you’re interested I can show you the interview.

Yes, definitely interested. Did he say why?

He has run as a third-party candidate before in 1988 and was disillusioned by the process of gaining state ballots, lack of debates, and general lack of exposure.

Very true, Shashir. I also saw an interview on the Daily Show, where he seemed to hint that it is way too expensive to run without the financial support of one of the major political parties. a shame, really…

I understood his response to mean that he would not run on an independent ticket. He may still choose to run on the republican ticket, as a Republican, and I would hope he would. Such a split ticket, between the primaries and the election, would grant even more continuing education and media awareness of the issues to the public. Further if the republicans don’t want a champion for the constition, the the Dems deserve to win.

Hmmm, as of this comment, ‘Yes’ is at 58%.
I wonder if people are answering for what they hope, rather than what they think will actually happen.
